That large Connect Four game would be fun to play with, and the Checkers on the ground :)

Week 6 (Day 42) streak. Today’s daily step goal was completed with 2 sets of indoor walking exercises during my work break, followed by a leisurely outdoor walk after work.

I wanted to check out the setup of the Poutine Feast-ival in Lee Park. Potato spuds and corndogs, Bobba tea, ice cream, lemonade, mini donuts, and of course, variations of poutine at various food trucks. I can’t wait to get some this weekend!

I continued my walk down to the waterfront, with a much cooler weather to enjoy the view.

A nice shady spot to sit under the trees

For this week, I’ve learned to be intentional about my indoor walking exercises. Not just to complete my step goal, but they are ‘aerobic’ in nature, with an HR of 150 bpm for 30 minutes. They are holistic, moving not just the feet and legs but also the arms, waist, and hips.

Walking outdoors is still a must because I love the benefits of a change of scenery, natural sunlight, and finding small things that stand out in the day. After all, life is simply creating one good memory each day.

I came across a quote that says, “A healthy choice is always followed by another one.” And it’s true. When you decide to have a healthier lifestyle, you make better decisions to support it.

So other than the daily steps goal, I completed the ‘warm-up’ week of doing 14-10 intermittent fasting, which started late last week. I’m not ready to deal with the amount and type of food I eat yet. So for now I’m simply reducing my eating window especially late-night snacking. Tomorrow I’ll start tracking progress each week for that.

In my 6 weeks of being more consciously active, it is clear that it’s not just about walking for weight loss, but about shedding unhealthy habits accumulated for many reasons (some of which are valid). It requires commitment and intention. Sometimes the motivation goes down, life happens, but you do it one day at a time.

It’s why I write down the completion of each day: it breaks a big goal into smaller, doable activities you can look back on and say, “How awesome was that?!”

With today’s distance, I unlocked collectible card #8 and #9 for my Conqueror: Arc Reactor challenge. Swell! 🎉

Overall, it’s an awesome time to be healthy!
